World Philosophy Day

stones1As our erstwhile Technical Director, Nic, is somewhat of a philosopher (according to some tattered parchment he got from uni anyway), he sent this snippet round which I thought I might share with you all.

It would appear that today is World Philosophy Day, so while you’re waiting for our next magical web development installment (it’s almost ready, be patient!) the following might give you something to mull over [courtesy of the BBC!]

* Is certainty the same as truth?
* Do all Polos taste the same?
* Is the Hokey Cokey really what it’s all about?
* Can you photograph a wink?
* Is my God your God?
* Is there a difference between an ‘exit’ and a ‘way out’?
* Could God be an atheist?
* Is Monday not Tuesday as much as Wednesday isn’t?
* Are two all-you-can-eat breakfasts twice as big as one?
* Is it OK to let someone in the queue behind you?
* Does having plans help you become the sort of person you used to want to be?
* Can you be proud of someone you’ve never met?
* Just because we can, should we?
* Should you trust everyone once?
* Is a hole a thing?
* Does your house weigh more when the bath is full?
* Is saying ‘I don’t know’ better than guessing?
* Can a good person choose not to go to heaven (should it exist)?
* Is refusing to be weak the same as being strong?
* Could a nun disguise herself as a nun?

I managed to answer them all with a simple yes or no, and yes came out as my most common answer which proves categorically that I’m a positive person. It also demonstrates that I’m no philosopher. I think the people behind www.philosophy.com missed a trick today though as their site mentions nothing about World Philosophy Day. With a domain name that’s got to be worth a small fortune, they should have been all over this. If you know someone who needs help with their online marketing, let them know about us and we’ll put your name in a hat.
