We’ve been busy here at Slightly Different HQ building a bevy of web solutions for our clients, but despite the fact we don’t have much time, we do like to keep our eye on technology to see the latest things that are going on and what might be influencing the way we work in the next decade.
There’s a couple of new technologies that we’re keeping a very close eye on, and one where we’ve started doing some much more in depth research and development – it does help having an in-house technical team to explore potential new areas in more depth. I won’t publicly say anything about what we’re up to just yet, but it’s going to be real.
Another related technology which is also very exciting is that which was unveiled at the TED lecture earlier this year. You’ll recall the scene in Minority Report where Tom Cruise pulls up documents, images, and film onto a glass wall in his office, and then manipulates this data with his hands, moving images around, zooming in and out to look for clues to the crime that’s about to take place. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, it’s worth watching.
Well those clever chaps at MIT have come up with something that we think is pretty special. Pranav Mistry, a student at MIT, has created a device that has to be seen to be fully understood. We want one. Here’s Pattie Maes showing you the future.
