On my walk to work this fine morning, I passed the sign to Penryn. Below this, someone had attached a sign of their own. It was a blue circle with the words ‘Dream is Reality’ in white.
It made me think about how effective something like this could be. Similar to Jeremy’s sighting of the ‘grenade’ car, the actual reason for the sign is unknown but it did something that the masses of marketing I am exposed to everyday doesn’t.
It made me think. It made me think about the nature of reality. Now, I am not really a religious person, but I have explored spirituality – mainly eastern religions like Buddhism, Hinduism and Jediism. Actually, Jediism is very, very east. And a long time a go.
However, it is the nature of reality, especially when you get to the quantum level, that makes me the most excited.
That is what good marketing should do. It’s not about spending the most money or having the most celebrity endorsements.
It’s about impact.
Go on, see if you can make someone think.
